Summer 2020 Virtual Interns
Pandemic Creates Opportunities for Virtual Internships
to Industrial Engineering Students
Industrial Engineering students completing internships during summer 2020 found themselves
working in a new way, remotely. The pandemic has demonstrated how the workforce is
experiencing a shift, and the future of work after the COVID-19 pandemic may not be
the same.
We caught up with several of our students while they were on internship this summer
to find out how the experience was for them, how they managed to stay engaged, and
how it impacted their understanding of the new work model. Then, we checked back in
with them afterward to see what the experience was like and how they felt about it.
